چکیده

This study investigates the higher harmonic generation of Lamb wave at a delamination due to contact acoustic nonlinearity, which is clapping phenomenon between sublaminate surfaces interaction with delamination. In this study, harmonics induced in composite laminates are studied detail. performs both numerical and experimental studies. A three-dimensional finite element model proposed for predicting propagation nonlinear waves verified using experimentally measured data. The results show can reasonably predict generated by nonlinearity. It found that major source nonlinearity laminates. mode conversion also carried out gain further physical insight into

The interaction of Rayleigh waves with delaminations in composite laminates.

In the present work, the interaction of Rayleigh waves with a delamination in a fiber reinforced composite plate was analyzed. Rayleigh waves, upon interacting with delamination mode, convert into Lamb waves in the delamination zone. These guided Lamb modes have the capability to mode convert back into Rayleigh modes when they interact with the edge of the delamination. A unidirectional glass/e...

Scattering characteristics of Lamb waves from debondings at structural features in composite laminates.

This article investigates the scattering characteristics of Lamb waves from a debonding at a structural feature in a composite laminate. This study specifically focuses on the use of the low frequency fundamental antisymmetric (A(0)) Lamb wave as the incident wave for debonding detection. Three-dimensional finite element (FE) simulations and experimental measurements are used to investigate the...

Leaky Lamb Waves (llw) in Multiorientation Composite Laminates

Considerable efforts have been made in recent years to develop quantitative nondestructive evaluation (NDE) techniques for composite materials, which are being used increasingly in primary structures. The leaky Lamb wave phenomenon has shown considerable potential as an NDE method [1]. Most results reported in this area to date have been concerned with unidirectional laminates [2-4]. This is at...

A Shell/3d Modeling Technique for Delaminations in Composite Laminates

A shell/3D modeling technique was developed for which a local solid finite element model is used only in the immediate vicinity of the delamination front. The goal was to combine the accuracy of the full three-dimensional solution with the computational efficiency of a plate or shell finite element model. Multi-point constraints provide a kinematically compatible interface between the local 3D ...

Influence of stacking sequence on scattering characteristics of the fundamental anti-symmetric Lamb wave at through holes in composite laminates.

This paper investigates the scattering characteristics of the fundamental anti-symmetric (A(0)) Lamb wave at through holes in composite laminates. Three-dimensional (3D) finite element (FE) simulations and experimental measurements are used to study the physical phenomenon. Unidirectional, bidirectional, and quasi-isotropic composite laminates are considered in the study. The influence of diffe...
